The Sapphire Aquatic Centre is located in Pambula Beach on the far South of NSW, just 10 minute drive from Merimbula.
The centre is owned and operated by the Bega Valley Shire Council. The facility was built by the community in 2010, is the only indoor heated aquatic centre in the Bega Valley and open for public use all year round.

From babies to adults and non-swimmers to competitive athletes, the Sapphire Aquatic Centre offers swimming programs to suit everyone’s needs. The Centre is a recognised AUSTSWIM affiliated venue and all teachers and coaches are fully qualified and undergo regular professional development to ensure the best possible learning experiences for participants.
The gym is open 7 days a week and has a range of cardio and resistance training machines, as well as free weights to cater for all levels from beginners through to more experienced trainers. The Centre is well equipped for those with higher accessibility needs. The building is wheelchair accessible and has reserved car parking spaces. Onsite we have a sling lift patient hoist, portable shower trolley and a dedicated change room. To assist with access into the pool an aquatic wheelchair is available for use, as well as both the 25 metre pool and the multipurpose pool having access ramps into the water.
In addition to the aquatic centre the Bega Valley Shire Council has five outdoor pools which are open for six months of the year from the beginning of October until the end of March. These pools are located in the townships of Bega, Bemboka, Candelo, Cobargo and Eden.
